BUS RIDERS The District usually sends Bus Assignment Letters on in mid to late August, through ParentSquare. This information included letters to families via ParentSquare that contained your child's bus number, bus stop location, and tentative pick-up and drop-off times. Plan to be at your bus stop 10 minutes early each day and plan for the buses to potentially be late until the drivers iron out the kinks during the first weeks of school.
When your child arrives in the morning, they will exit the buses and go directly to recess on the playground until 8:55 AM. Students will line up by class and enter the building to their classrooms with their homeroom teacher. On days when the weather is wet or extremely cold, students will enter the school immediately upon arrival. In the afternoon, students line up outside on the blacktop until the bus arrives. Staff will assist students in boarding the school bus each day.
PARENT DROP OFF 8:35-8:55 AM It is crucial that the line moves efficiently during this peak time to achieve our goal of getting our students to school safely. Families entering the school zone during this time should line up and enter from Maple Street. It is important that all drivers follow the procedure, which includes not making a left turn into the Peaslee School driveway during arrival. Be mindful of the buses dropping off students, stay alert in the driveway, and always remain in the parent pick up line. Do not pass the driver in front of you.
Drop off begins at 8:35 AM. Once staff are on duty, students can exit their cars. Parents can drop off their child when they are near the sidewalk at the front of the school. Students should enter the school using the front door and proceed through the school to the playground or their classrooms. Parents are asked to prepare their student to exit the car quickly so the line can move efficiently. Staff will be on-site to assist our younger students in exiting the cars.
Staff and student helpers will be in the lobby to greet students on the first day of school and assist them in getting to the playground or their teachers' classrooms.
