WEEKLY NEWS FROM DR. COAKLEY
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Kudos to our students, staff, and families for making the first six days of school such a positive and successful start!
We have spent this time getting to know our new classrooms, friends, and teachers. We’ve explored new ways of learning, set both short- and long-term goals, reviewed and practiced routines, and followed procedures. We even had our first fire drill—and the students did great!
We are excited to begin using a new math curriculum this year, Eureka Math². This K–5 Math & ELA Curriculum Document provides more information about the program, as well as our other core instructional resources. As always, if you have any questions about what your child is learning or how they are progressing, please reach out to their teacher.
We look forward to seeing you at our annual Open House on Tuesday, September 9, from 6:00–7:30 PM. This is a community event for families and students to attend together. Be sure to stop by the PTO Back to School Party to connect with friends and family, grab an ice cream cone or a baked good, and help the fifth graders raise funds for their trip to Nature’s Classroom in May 2026—before coming inside to visit the office, school, specialists, teachers, and classrooms.
Please note that September 9th is an early release day for students. While the lunch calendar lists a menu for Tuesday, however lunch will not be served. Dismissal will begin at 12:05 PM. Please submit any changes to your child's typical Tuesday dismissal plan using the Sept. 9 Half Day Dismissal Plan Form.
Have a wonderful weekend, and a great week ahead!
