GO PATS!
Marguerite E. Peaslee Elementary School
A Vibrant Student Centered Learning Community

Dear Peaslee Families and Caregivers,

Can you believe we are already approaching the 100th day of school? Time is certainly flying by!

This week our kindergarteners will be busy preparing their capes for the annual 100th Day student parade, which will take place on Tuesday. We can’t wait to celebrate this special milestone with them.

I am also looking forward to our first third-grade violin performance this week. It is always a joy to see our students showcase their incredible talents and hard work. Second and third grade students will enjoy watching the performance during the school day on Monday, and families are invited to attend the performance on Thursday evening at Lincoln Street School beginning at 6:30. Best of luck to all of our performers—we are so proud of you!

We are also excited to celebrate Valentine’s Day with our students on Friday, February 13. This will be our “Show the Love” school spirit day, and students are invited to wear pink, red, or Valentine-themed clothing. As part of spreading kindness beyond our school, please consider supporting our Grade 5 Food Drive benefiting the NB Food Pantry.

As a reminder, student safety is our top priority during arrival and dismissal, and we truly appreciate your continued support and partnership. Please take a moment to review the important reminders included in the following section of this post. Thank you for working with us to keep all of our students safe.

We are grateful for our wonderful school community and all that you do to support our students each day.

Warmly,
Dr. Mary Coakley, Principal

PARENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP
When using the parent pick-up lane, please remember to drive slowly, only pass when a staff member waves you on, and have your child exit the vehicle on the curb side. These important steps make a big difference in keeping everyone safe and ensuring dismissal runs smoothly.

DISMISSAL PLANNING and COMMUNICATION
We also ask families to notify the office of any changes to dismissal plans before 1:00 p.m.
Any change should come to peasleeattendance@nsboro.k12.ma.us Feel free to also email you child's teach. This includes when students are arriving late or leaving early for an appointment. When changes come in later in the day, it can be very difficult to ensure the message reaches the correct staff member or student in time,

ANNOUNCEMENTS
FEBRUARY 13 - VALENTINES DAY CARD EXCHANGE
We are looking forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day with our students on Friday, February 13!
On that day, students will have the opportunity to deliver Valentine’s Day cards to students in their classrooms. If you would like your child to participate, please send in a set of cards for all students in the class. Teachers find it very helpful if children write their own name on the back of each card, so recipients know who the card is from. Please remember that food or candy is not allowed with Valentine’s cards. Students are invited to bring in a special snack of their own. No cans or energy drinks please!
If you are in need of cards for your child to share, please don’t hesitate to reach out by email (mcoakley@nsboro.k12.ma.us—we are happy to help and can provide them.

MARCH 26 - GRADE 5 CAREGIVER ORIENTATION @ MELICAN MIDDLE SCHOOL March 26
Our language teachers are hoping to visit the 5th graders the week of March 16th. Next year, rather than 6th graders taking Language Exploratory (where they explore both French and Spanish) two days each week, they will choose either French or Spanish before entering sixth grade, taking it two days each week. The visits will take approximately 30-40 minutes - it is fine to have more than one class at a time.
