Marguerite E. Peaslee Elementary School
A Vibrant Student Centered Learning Community

Dear Peaslee Families and Caregivers,

It was wonderful to welcome students back after our extended February break. The excitement was contagious as they reunited with friends and teachers. While the winter weather certainly brought its challenges, the highlight was hearing the squeals of delight as students climbed and explored the mounds of snow together!

A special thank-you to Mrs. Whalen for bringing the incredible Sonic Spaceship Program to our school this afternoon. Students thoroughly enjoyed this engaging, music-filled experience, and it was a joy to see them so inspired.

We are looking forward to our next Panda Family Meeting on March 9th and our All School Meeting on March 19th. These meaningful community gatherings give us time to reflect on what it means to be a Peaslee Panda, to strengthen our connections, celebrate both individual and collective accomplishments, and continue striving to be our best selves and learners together.

Enjoy the weekend, and best wishes for an outstanding week ahead.
Sincerely,

Dr. Mary Coakley, Principal

Many members of our community are observing Ramadan, a sacred month in the Muslim faith focused on reflection, generosity, and strengthening connections with others. During this time, some students may be fasting during the day and participating in special family and community traditions in the evenings. Central to this  the values of care, empathy, and belonging that it represents within our Proctor community. Ramadan 2026 began on Wednesday, February 18th.The holy month is expected to last 29 or 30 days, with Eid al-Fitr likely on March 19th or March 20th.

BINGO NIGHT

DON'T MISS THIS ANNUAL FUN FILLED NIGHT!

IT IS A MUST DO FOR ALL PEASLEE FAMILIES

ALL TOWN BAND

All Town Band will begin soon for 5th grade band students across our four elementary schools. This program gives students the opportunity to connect with peers from other schools, work with middle school band mentors, and become familiar with Melican Middle School and its music staff.

Rehearsals will be held at Melican Middle School on Wednesdays from 3:45–4:45 PM, running March 11 through May 13, culminating in a concert on May 13 at Algonquin Regional High School.

Please note that transportation will not be provided this year. We encourage families to carpool. Currently we have a few families that are looking for a ride to All Town Band. Please reach out to Mrs. Makara or your teacher to let them know that you are willing to help provide transportation. If you have any questions about carpooling please reach out!

If transportation presents a challenge, please reach out and we will do our best to support participation.
Students should bring their instrument, method book, and music to school on Wednesdays. All-Town Band is an additional opportunity and does not replace regular lessons or rehearsals at their elementary school.

Please complete the Google Form permission slip using the QR code by Friday, March 6TH.
