Dear Peaslee Students, Families and Caregivers,
In our classrooms, literacy is more than just reading and writing—it’s about sparking curiosity, nurturing critical thinking, and connecting as a community of learners. From kindergarten through grade 5, our English Language Arts & Literacy program invites students to explore language, stories, and ideas in ways that inspire a lifelong love of learning. Our literacy block (K–5) weaves together Foundational Skills, Complex Text, Writing, and Oral Language to build skills to support students as they become strong, fluent readers and writers.
Because learning extends beyond the classroom, we strongly encourage reading at home nightly. Research consistently shows that regular home reading boosts vocabulary, sharpens comprehension, and serves as a key contributor to overall school success. If you're looking for book recommendations or title ideas tailored to your child's interests, please reach out to their classroom teacher!
Strong schools are built on strong partnerships, and we would love to see you at our upcoming PTO meeting this Thursday October 1st at 6:30 PM! Attending is a great way to stay connected, hear about upcoming school events, and share your voice in supporting our students and teachers. Whether you're a long-time volunteer or attending for the first time, your involvement makes a huge difference. Mark your calendar, we can't wait to see you there!

ANNOUNCEMENTS TITAN GAMES
On Friday October 2, special education students from the Northborough, Southborough, and Regional districts will gather to compete in the annual Titan Games at Algonquin High School. Students participate in 3 events (throwing, long jump, and 100m dash) and complete the games with a dance party. This is a wonderful event celebrating the hard work these students and their teachers, ESPs and therapists put in every day. Together, let's cheer on the students from Peaslee... GO PANDAS!
WALK TO SCHOOL DAY-OCTOBER 7TH
This nationwide event encourages healthy habits, community spirit, and a great start to the school day. Lace up your sneakers and help us make it a morning to remember! Join the fun and get active with the Panda Nation as we celebrate Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 7th. Choose to walk from home or meet up at the Town Hall at 63 Main Street between 8:10-8:15 am and walk with other Peaslee Pandas and their families. If your child attends NEDP, please provide permission for Dr. Coakley and the Peaslee Staff to walk up to the Town Hall and back! It's a FUN tradition!
REMINDER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! ~ ED CAMP 2025- OCTOBER 9TH
On the afternoon of Friday, October 9th students in grades 3-5 are participating in EdCamp. If you are interested in running a session please return the attached PDF or send a message to Mrs. Griffin (cgriffin@nsboro.k12.ma.us) or Mrs. Daunais (adaunais@nsboro.k12.ma.us) by Wednesday, September 24! Mrs. Griffin and Mrs. Daunais are happy to answer any questions for new and returning presenters. It is a wonderful opportunity to share your hobby, skills, or knowledge with our students! SESSION TIMES: 1:30-2:10 p.m. -and- 2:20-3:00 p.m. ***All adults will need to have an CORI on file to participate.
