FALL FUN WITH FIRST AND FOURTH GRADE BUDDIES!
Marguerite E. Peaslee Elementary School
GROWING MINDS~BUILDING COMMUNITY~INSPIRING POSSIBILITY
|
Dear Peaslee Students, Families and Caregivers,
We have been thinking a lot about how we help children build healthy habits in a world where screens are everywhere. The answer isn’t simply counting minutes. Healthy digital habits develop when adults model, guide, set boundaries, and gradually help children learn to manage technology for themselves. Whether your child is in kindergarten or high school, small routines at home can make a difference.
I encourage you to visit our district Digital Wellness page this month for practical, research-based strategies for setting routines, using parental controls, and supporting healthy technology habits at every age. I hope you find the information in this month’s resources helpful.
Have a wonderful weekend! As always, please reach out if you have any questions.
Dr. Mary Coakley, Principal

ANNOUNCEMENTS
APPLES AROUND TOWN The NCC launched the "Apples Around Town", a public art project featuring hand-painted fiberglass resin apples. The molded fiberglass apples were custom-crafted by Fran’s Fiberglass in Uxbridge. Local artists submitted designs representative of Northborough. A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place in late August/early September 2026, with hand-painted apples placed at various public locations around town, including one in the garden outside the front door of the Marguerite E. Peaslee School. Thank you to Karen Clarke, chair of the Cultural Council, who delivered the beautiful apple designed by Terry Underwood, a former Peaslee parent and Northborough resident. The installation was handled by Joe Creedan from landscaper Classic Homecare. FUN RUN
Thank you so much to all of our students, teachers, and families for participating in our Boosterthon Fun Run Fundraiser! Your generous support and enthusiasm make a huge difference for our community, and we couldn't do this without you. We are so excited for the upcoming Fun Run on November 3rd and can't wait to see everyone out there cheering on our runners! PTO GOLD SPONSORS-THANK YOU!

HALLOWEEN PARADE REMINDERS
Parents should drop students off for morning recess (8:35 am), and then park and remain in their cars until recess is over at 8:55.
Do not park in the driveway or bus lane, until after 8:55am.
Parents/Caregivers who walk to school should gather in front of the school near the bike rack/sidewalk area..
8:58 Parents Line Up on the Parade Route -The Parade Route is the sidewalk around the back (near the playground) and front of the building. Students will exit the building walk toward the parking lot and
Fifth graders will lead the students out the front door and around the back of the school. We will make a second loop around the school, and then stop to pick up backpacks and return to classrooms.
Students will make two loops around the building.
Be sure to stand in the grass or driveway so that students and staff may use the sidewalk for the parade.
Costume Reminders
Dogs are not permitted on the premises during school hours.
Costumes should be non-violent and non-gruesome. No sharp objects, weapons or toy weapons of any kind will be allowed. Limit pieces, as they risk being lost.
Masks, or blowups that cover faces and face paint are not allowed. Students will be asked to remove any mask brought to school.
Do not send in fake blood or makeup.
All students should wear clothing under their costumes. Costumes are not to be worn all day at school.
We will be unable to call home for lost, or forgotten costumes or pieces. Additionally, there will not be time for students to change into costumes at school before the parade begins.
Students should bring an extra bag for costume pieces. Students will pack these costumes in their costume bag, and keep these in their backpacks to be taken home at the end of the day.
